In Loving Memory of Gina Helen Peterson

Gina Helen Peterson, age 61, passed away peacefully at home on August 25, 2026. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Gina was a beautiful soul whose life was defined by love, kindness, and compassion.

Gina was a devoted wife to her husband, Dane Peterson, and a loving mother to her daughter, Ashley Landers. Being a wife and mother was at the heart of who Gina was. Her family was her world, and the love she gave them was unconditional and unwavering.

Gina worked as an office manager for SCI Development Services. She was hardworking, dependable, and always willing to help others. But beyond her work, it was the person she was that people will remember most.

Gina had a huge heart. She was one of those rare people who could make everyone around her feel loved and accepted. She never met a stranger, and the people who crossed her path were better for having known her. Her kindness was genuine, her compassion was endless, and her love touched so many lives.

Gina had a special love for animals. She was a huge animal lover and showed them the same tenderness and compassion she showed to people. Caring for others was simply part of who she was.

Gina was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Betty Jackson; her grandmothers, Viola Smith and Ruth Sims; her brother, Steve Jackson; her brother-in-law, Jim Dempsey; and her aunts, Joyce Jones and Betty Gardner.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Dane Peterson; her daughter, Ashley Landers, son-in- law Donavon Landers; her sister, Debbie Dempsey; sisters-in-law Mary Jackson and Dawn Peterson; cousin, Mitchel Gordon; Mother in law Janice Peterson; nieces, Megan Thompson and Lauren Dempsey; nephew, Josh Jackson and his wife Corie; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Message From Her Family

There are no words that can truly express how much Gina meant to us. She was our wife, our mother, our sister, our aunt, our cousin, and our friend—but above all, she was someone who brought love into our lives simply by being in them. We will miss her smile, her kindness, her laughter, and the way she cared so deeply for the people and animals she loved. We will miss the little things that made her Gina—the things that cannot be replaced and never will be.

Dane will forever cherish the life they shared together, and Ashley will forever carry her mother's love in her heart. Gina may no longer be here beside us, but the love she gave us did not leave with her. It remains in our memories, in the lessons she taught us, in the kindness she showed others, and in every life she touched.

Until we meet again, we will love you, we will miss you, and we will carry you with us always. Rest peacefully, Gina. You were deeply loved, and you always will be.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday September 5, 2026 at Cannon United Methodist Church with Pastor Glen Petty officiating. A Reception will follow the service at the church.
