Gail "Grammie" Smay Waite, age 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 23, 2017, due to congestive heart failure.  She was born on September 30, 1933, to Guy and Bonnie Smay in South Fork, PA.  She will truly be missed by family and friends alike.  To know her was to love her.  She had a passion for cooking delicious meals for all.  She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and wanted everybody to know Him.  She faithfully attended worship services at Cross Roads Baptist Church, Lawrenceville, GA.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, nine siblings, her beloved son Harold and her great-grand daughter Sunny Mae.  She is survived by seven children, Linda (John) Lavallee, David Waite, Richard (Nona) Waite, Kenneth Waite, Debra (James) McLane, all of Lawrenceville, GA, Steven (Linda) Waite, of Kennewick, WA, and Charlene (Dick) Sheppard, of Auburn, GA, daughter-in-law Cyndi Waite, of Lawrenceville, GA, 17 grand-children, 25 great grand children, and a host of friends.

A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at 2:00 pm at Cross Roads Baptist Church, Lawrenceville, GA, with Rev. Kenny Kuykendall, officiating. Ms. Waite will lie in state at the church from 1:00 pm until time of service.  Interment will follow at Peachtree Road Baptist Church, Suwanee, GA, with Rev. Scott Cramer officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 24, 2017, from 12-4 & 6-9 pm at the Funeral Home.
