IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Evelyn Lane
(Dotts) Haralson
July 28, 1924 – October 29, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our precious mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother, Evelyn Lane Dotts Haralson, who had recently celebrated her 101st birthday.
Evelyn was born in Macon, Georgia on July 28, 1924 to the late Howard Dotts and Pauline Means Dotts and was the sister of the late Helen Layton. She was a master gardener and spent many years as a nurse working at Emory before moving in caregiving for one of her closest friends. Our mother was a woman of deep faith who loved the Lord and her family tremendously. While she was able, she attended Bethlehem First United Methodist Church and at one time was the oldest living member.
She is survived by her children, Judy (Fred) Gaunce, Billie Haralson, Carol (Bill) Pope, Lindsey (Monica) Haralson and son-in-law Ralph Sticher. She was the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren, 12 great grands and 4 beautiful great-great granddaughters. In addition to her parents and sister, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Helen Sticher, her grandson, James Sticher and daughter-in-law, Sherilyn Haralson.
The family will have visitation on Friday, October 31st from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. with a service following in the chapel at 11:00. Private burial will take place in Macon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Bethlehem First United Methodist Church, 709 Christmas Avenue, Bethlehem, GA 30620
