Edward "Eddie" D. Williams passed away on Feb. 7, 2026 at his home in Bethlehem, GA with his wife at his side. He was born March 6, 1955, in Seattle, WA and joined the Navy at age 17 with his mother's permission. He did 2 tours of duty in the Mediterranean on Aircraft Carriers, 1972-1976. He was proud to have served in the Navy and felt like it gave him some direction in life. He was preceded in death by his younger brother Fred Williams, and two older sisters Jessie Williams and Sandy Ross.
He later settled in Chicago, IL and worked on the Chicago Fire Department, EMS Division, for nearly 29 years and spent some years as EMS Director for the Union during that time, retiring at the rank of Field Chief. He truly enjoyed the people he worked with and always felt blessed to have had such a great job and great friends. However, one of his greatest pleasures in life came in retirement when he was able to spend time with his two granddaughters who kept him busy shopping, making pizzas, building Legos, and fixing boo-boos.
He is survived by his wife Catherine Williams, an older brother, Michael Aldrich of Seattle, WA and his two children, Joseph Williams of Dearborn, MI, and Jennifer Sisco (Patrick) and 2 granddaughters, Hannah and MacKenzie, of Statham, GA. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend to many people.
