Dorothy Johnson Barnes (DeeDee) passed away peacefully on January 11,2026 surrounded by family and friends.
Deedee was born in New York, New York but lived the majority of her life in Florida. She lived her life carefree with lots of love, laughter and fun always wanting to make everyone’s day a little bit brighter !
She was a beloved wife of the late James H Barnes. Cherished mother to Chris and Brad(Margo) Barnes.
Adoring Grandmother to Adam, Keith(Heather), Brandon(Megan), Kyle, Megan(Dennis), Tyler, and Logan Barnes. Loving Great Grandmother to Jazzelle, Alyssa and Layla Barnes. She also leaves behind her brother, nieces, and nephew and extended family.
Her positive, sweet, funny nature will truly be missed by all that knew and loved her.
A funeral mass honoring her will be held Friday May 1, 2026 at 11:30 A.M. at St Gregory’s Catholic Church. 200 N University Drive, Plantation, Florida 33324.
