Eugene Loveless
January 3, 1930 – November 24, 2025
Donald "Don" Eugene Loveless, of Atlanta Georgia, was born on January 3, 1930 in Decatur, Illinois and died November 24, 2025 at age 95, surrounded by his wife of 73 years, Nell Loveless, and his family. He is predeceased by his parents Reverend Keith Lester Loveless and Alice Josephine (Kimmons) Loveless, brother Ralph Loveless and sister Carol Bishop. He leaves behind his loving wife Nell, children Karen Culwell (Jeff), Keith Loveless (Kim), Mark Loveless (Cris) and Paul Loveless (Christie), 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. In 1951 Don joined the Air Force and was stationed in Roslyn AFB, Long Island. There he met his future wife, and in 1952, he married the love of his life, Martha Nell Callahan, from Athens Georgia. In 1953 Don was stationed in Japan where he and Nell lived for 2 years. After returning Stateside, he finished his degree in Engineering and Architecture from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Upon graduation, he moved his family to Atlanta Georgia. Don worked as a professional structural engineer for many years in Atlanta, culminating in owning his own private practice. In 1975 he decided to make a career change and enrolled in Emory School of Law. He became a licensed practicing attorney focusing on Construction Law until he retired. Don enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a private pilot & sailor who enjoyed flying, sailing, and woodworking. He was an active and faithful member of Oak Grove United Methodist church and practiced his faith in his daily walk with the Lord. His relationship with His Lord was his greatest priority. He spent his final years at Kings Bridge Retirement Community where he and Nell enjoyed new friendships and activities. A memorial service will be held in the Pavilion at Kings Bridge Retirement Community Saturday November 29, 2025, at 11:00. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 in the Pavilion.
