David "Keith" Chitwood, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on April 15, 2026, at the age of 77, at Piedmont Walton County Hospital following a lengthy illness. Even while facing multiple health challenges, he showed remarkable resilience and strength. Mr. Chitwood was born in Clarksville, Ga, yet started his family in Johnson City, Tennessee. He later moved to Lawrenceville, Georgia in February 1986. He was the son of the late Ralph and Mary Chitwood and was preceded in death by his sister Shirley Chitwood Aultman.

He was a proud father to Courtney Chitwood Ondre and (Steven) of Lawrenceville, GA, Angela Chitwood Graham (Michael)of Winder, GA, and Brandon Chitwood (Alicia)of Lawrenceville, GA and a cherished grandfather to 12 grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride: Kade Ottoway, Xavier Ondre, Caralena Ondre, and Kenzie Ondre, Mitchell Graham and wife Morgan Graham, Ashton Graham, Jayden Graham, and Logan Graham, Camden Chitwood, Dylan Chitwood, and Evan Chitwood. He is also survived by his sister, Karen Chitwood Pelland of Lilburn, Ga, along with many extended family members and friends.

Keith was the proud owner of Keith Chitwood Builders in which he built houses in surrounding counties in North Georgia. He graduated from Gordon High School and went on to attend Georgia State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. During his college years, he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.

Keith had a lifelong love of sports! He was a fan of the Atlanta Braves, Falcons, and especially his Georgia Bulldogs Football team. He also loved and shared his music immensely, he was an avid listener of many genres and would sing his praises loudly. Keith enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes, reading, and playing card games.
