Daniel William Marschke

March 1, 1948 — May 19, 2026

Loganville

Daniel William Marschke, 78, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 in Loganville, GA surrounded by his immediate family.

Born on March 1, 1948 in Fairbury, IL he grew up spending his time between St. Joseph, MI and Boulder Junction, WI where his parents owned and operated a hunting and fishing lodge. This is where his hobbies and passion for the outdoors were fueled. Dan met his lifelong love, Barbara, in college and graduated from Western Michigan University. After completing his active duty for the United States Army Reserves, he began immediately working for Gulf Oil Corporation which brought his family to Georgia. He spent his life working in the petroleum and automotive aftermarket and retired from Permatex.

Retirement allowed him to devote his time to his family and his hobbies. He made a point to attend any and every event involving his five grandchildren and loved to follow their achievements and tell anyone who would listen all about them. Papa Fish was their biggest fan! His hunting and fishing passions led him to many parts of North and South America and he proudly achieved his status as a Grand Master Waterfowl Hunter. He also was a member of the Honey Creek Archery Club at the Monastery in Conyers, GA for over 35 years. Additionally, he loved his church and was proud to be a member since the church’s inception.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Guenther C. and Ilene G. Marschke and his daughter, Michele. He is survived by his wife Barbara of 56 years, daughter Lisa (Scott) Rhudy, son Todd (Kate) Marschke, his grandchildren Jonathan and Kaitlyn Rhudy, Lauren, Davis and Owen Marschke, his brother Bruce (Marcy) Marschke and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1826 Killian Hill Road, Lilburn, GA 30047 on June 5, 2026 at 1:00 PM with a reception to follow. Dan will be interned in the church Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in his memory at tlc-lilburn.org.
