IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carroll Lemuel
Roberts
April 6, 1939 – June 24, 2023
Carroll Lemuel Roberts, 84, of Loganville GA passed away June 24, 2023.
Carroll was born April 6, 1939 in Lawrence County Mississippi to JB and Irma Roberts. As a growing boy he learned many things in the various jobs that he held from farming, driving a school bus, building roads, and singing in and leading a choir. Each of these experiences gave him wisdom and the many life lessons that he carried with him for his journey to Southwest Mississippi Junior College where he met his lifelong love, Sandra Reeves.
After graduating from college, Carroll and Sandra were married on June 25, 1960. They had two children, Greg and Leah. Carroll also started his career with the JC Penney Company in 1960. He spent 38 years with the company, retiring in 1998 as the Manager of the Jasmine Mall JC Penney store in Sumter South Carolina. During his career, Carroll and family lived all over the Southeastern district in the cities of McComb Mississippi, Huntsville and Birmingham Alabama, Miami Florida, Atlanta Georgia, Newport News and Richmond Virginia, and Sumter South Carolina. After his retirement from the JC Penney Company, Carroll enjoyed volunteering for his church and doing taxes for AARP to name a few. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and working in the garden with Sandra. Carroll was predeceased by his parents, JB and Irma Roberts, and his brother Jimmy Roberts. He is survived by his wife Sandra Roberts, his son Greg Roberts and wife, Janice, his daughter Leah Cox and husband, John, his grandchildren John H. Cox III (Abigail), Olivia Cox (Tony), and Connor Daschbach, his great grandchildren Carolyn Fay Cox and Johnny Wyatt Cox, his sisters Billie Shealy and Cherry Lambert, and many nieces and nephews. Carroll would want everyone he came in contact with to be uplifted and joyous in the time he spent with them, whether it was for a cup of coffee on the deck or a conversation in the garage. He wanted you to leave feeling loved and appreciated as his last words to you were "I love you and I'm proud of you!" The Roberts family will host a "Celebration of Life Drop In" Saturday July 15, 2023 from 11:00am-1:00pm at The Villas Clubhouse at 603 Villa Drive in Loganville.
