It is with great sadness the family of Carol "Candee" Lynne Thornton announces she passed away on October 23, 2024 at the age of 70 in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Candee was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Thornton in 2015. As a mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend to all she met, her playful sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Candee was born June 1, 1954 in Rome, New York and was the daughter of the late Thomas J. Griffin, III and Helen K. Griffin. She grew up on Air Force bases across the United States, Europe, and Africa and in 1972 graduated from Robinson High School in Tampa, Florida. Candee was a faithful follower of Jesus and served as an extraordinary minister for Saint Paul Catholic Church in Leesburg, Florida.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers of the Mansions in Lawrenceville for their compassionate care these last few years. We also thank the professionals at Georgia Hospice Care for their support during this time.

With her well-known love of animals, the family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to your local Humane Society.
