Carol Jean Conrad of Buford, Ga., was received into the gates of heaven Sunday, February 5, 2017.  Carol is preceded in death by her father Everett LeRoy Ginther, her mother Betty Jean Pennington, her stepfather Herbert Eugene (Gene) Pennington and her brother Jerry Ginther. She is survived by her husband Herb Kegley of Buford, Ga.; her brother Rick Ginther (Pat) of Pleasant Hill, Ia.; her sister Patricia Ginther-Giles of Ankeny, Ia.; as well as her daughters Diana Lewis (Kim) of Lawrenceville, Ga.; and Vicky Price (Joel) of Jesup, Ga. She has eight grandchildren:  Jenna Cantin (Matthew) of Bishop, Ga., Kelsey Blake of Jesup, Ga., Alexa Burruss (Michael) of Atlanta, Ga.; Jessica Long of Jesup, Ga.;  Shaina Smith Henry (Taylor) of Athens, Ga.; Danny Smith of Savannah, Ga.; Joel Price,II (Kelly) of Alpharetta, Ga.; Chris Price (Tonya) of Dallas, GA. She has 10 great-grandchildren:  Ayden, Briana and Braylen Blake; Madison Jordan; Logan Long; Preston and Maisie Cantin; Micah and Josiah Henry; and Audree Price.

Carol was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and attended East High (Go Scarlets!). Carol moved, with her family, to Atlanta, GA., in 1986 and she eventually settled into life on Lake Lanier.

Carol was beloved by her family and friends. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family meant everything to her. A close second was her dogs, which loved her as much as she loved them. She was as ornery and funny as she was loving and passionate about cheering on the Braves, Falcons, Georgia Bulldogs and Iowa Hawkeyes. But, mostly she cheered for her 'kids'.

Visitation for friends and family will be Sunday, February 12, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Byrd & Flanigan, 288 Hurricane Shoals Road NE, Lawrenceville, GA. 30046.  Funeral Services will be Monday, February 13, at 3:00 p.m. at Byrd and Flanigan with Rev Nathan Brandon officiating.
