Mrs. Betty Ann Hayes was born on November 29, 1952, in Atlanta, GA, and passed away on December 28, 2025, in Lawrenceville, GA, following a brief illness. She was born to Willie Ruth Aiken and JC Fowler. She graduated from Dacula High School in 1971. Betty professed her faith in Jesus Christ and attended Hog Mountain Baptist Church.
Betty was a beloved wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend whose presence graced the lives of many. Her professional journey included her work at Gwinnett Public Utilities. She also had an adventurous spirit, attending concerts and embarking on cross-country road trips, reflecting her love of life and exploration. Her legacy is most profoundly defined by the cherished moments she spent with her family. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and watching sci-fi. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she found great joy in playing Minecraft and other games with them, creating memories that will forever be treasured. Her unwavering commitment to caring for her precious mother, Ms. Willie, until her passing in April 2024, reflects the depth of her love and dedication.
She is preceded in death by her late husband, Sylvania "Jack" Nash; her son, Scott Jamison Nash; and her parents, Willie Ruth Aiken and JC Fowler.
Betty's beautiful life, rich in love and devotion, will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family. She is survived by her husband, Ken Hayes; son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Sam Nash; Jason Hayes; Shelley (Josey) Sanders; and Josh (Stacey) Hayes, brother & sister-in law Larry (Bobbie) Fowler, double first cousins & best friends, Loretta Breedlove, & Joyce Coker. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Zach (Sarah) Nash, Virginia (Braden) Alford, Gracie Eubanks, Hannah, Noah, Mason (Ella), Abby, Caleb, Steven, and Layla Hayes, Logan, and Nolan (Carly) Sanders; and her great-grandchildren, Oliver, Bowman, and Scarlett.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday January 4, 2026, at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of Byrd & Flanigan Funeral Service, Lawrenceville GA, with Rev. Nathan Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:30 pm until the time of the service.
