Obituary

Barbara Ann Weiler Saladna, 75, died in her home on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. She was a loving wife and selfless mother who always put the needs of others before her own. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. She is predeceased by John, her husband of 30 years. She is survived by her sons, Paul Saladna of Atlanta, GA, and J. Matthew Saladna of Kansas City, MO. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Jordan of Greenville, SC and her brother, Paul (Buddy) Weiler of Richmond, VA. She had four grandchildren, Michael, Katherine, Matthew, and Evan Saladna. Barbara led a life of public service beginning her career as a nurse. She split time raising two cheeky boys by volunteering for Meals on Wheels, various "Team Mom" roles, and Sunday School; the latter she taught for over 25 years. She is best remembered for her gift of gab, famously striking up conversations in any environment with anyone: parks, beaches, ballgames, checkout lines, elevators, escalators, and even the DMV. A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 19, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 801 Tom Smith Rd SW, Lilburn, GA 30047. Interment will be on May 20 at 1:00 PM at Honey Creek Woodlands at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit, 2625 GA-212, Conyers, GA 30094. In lieu of flowers or cards, the family requests donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
