With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, wife, and grandmother, Barbara Greene, who peacefully entered eternal life surrounded by family and loved ones on May 13, 2026, at the age of 61. Barbara was a compassionate woman whose deep love for her husband, children, and grandchildren touched everyone around her. Her kindness, patience, and unconditional love resonated throughout the family and served as an example to all who knew her. She had a warm heart, a gentle spirit, and a way of making people feel welcomed and cared for. Above all else, Barbara cherished her family and treasured every moment spent with them. She especially loved her grandchildren, who brought endless joy and pride to her life, as well as the peaceful trips she took to the mountains. Born on March 6, 1965, Barbara grew up in Decatur and graduated from Norcross High School. She later worked as a bus driver for more than 15 years, where she formed lasting friendships and positively impacted the lives of countless children and families in her community. Barbara was known for her caring nature, bright smile, and willingness to help anyone in need. Although she faced debilitating health conditions early in life, Barbara continued to live with remarkable strength, faith, compassion, and resilience. Through every challenge, she remained devoted to her family and continued to inspire those around her with her courage and unwavering love. Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness that will never be forgotten. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving husband, David; her brother Richard(Kathy); her children, Kayla, (A.J.), Vanessa, Tiffany (Josh), and Daryal; and her cherished grandchildren, Ethan, Tyler, Kailynn, Bryanna, Cheyann, Landyn, Sophia, Shelby, Cody, and Jazmine; nieces Kimberly and Rachel, along with many extended family members, dear friends, and chosen children and grandchildren who will miss her deeply. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Barbara is now at peace and reunited with loved ones who went before her. Her love will continue to guide and strengthen us every day. “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” — Ephesians 4:32
