Beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt and Friend

Barbara Marie Elmore, of Suwanee, GA, passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Born February 26, 1942, in Waynesboro, PA, Barbara was the daughter of the late Elmer Wilson Harrison and the late Phyllis Marie (Brown) Harrison.

Barbara grew up in Highfield, MD and attended Smithsburg High School. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Charles Monroe Elmore in 2018 and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Gladhill Freeman in 2021. Barbara had a life-long love of fashion and beauty and enjoyed keeping up with the latest styles and trends. Barbara had great style and a playful sense of humor. She was fun to be around and she remained "young at heart" throughout her life.

Barbara is survived by her brother, Thomas L. Harrison and his wife Pamela (Gibney) Harrison, of Armonk, NY, her niece, Lindsay (Harrison) Lukeman of Larchmont, NY, and her nephews Michael Harrison of Westport, CT and Matthew Harrison of New Canaan, CT and their families including seven grand-nieces and 3 grand-nephews.

Barbara's family meant everything to her. Despite being separated by distance, Barbara kept in close contact with family through texting and calling and she especially enjoyed visiting them in New York. Barbara had many friends in her neighborhood and around her community. She was loved by all those whose lives she touched and she will be greatly missed.
