Barbara Doblin, age 96, of Hoschton, GA, passed away on November 4, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 24, 1929 in Queens, New York to Leonard (deceased) and Lenore (deceased) Stevens. Barbara was the oldest of 4 children, Ronald Stevens (deceased), Sharon Pardonek and Claudia Flemig (deceased). She devoted her life to her family—leaving behind a legacy of love, caring, and quiet, but ever present strength.
Barbara was the devoted wife of 16 years to Arnold Doblin (deceased). Her previous marriage blessed her with 5 children: Leonard Hackinson (deceased), Wendy Fitzmartin, Brian Hackinson (Lucy), Tara Gillespie, and Barbara Hackinson (Lisa Wilmette). She was a cherished and beloved grandmother, Gigi, to 16 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren whom she loved deeply.
Barbara worked as a dental assistant in Bay Shore, New York. When Barbara moved to Atlanta, GA, she took a position with Atlanta Dental Supply and was there for many years.
After retiring Barbara moved to Florida, and it quickly became her paradise. She loved her time in Panama City Beach. She and her many dear friends provided the community with numerous hours of volunteer work for various organizations which included, Bay County Sheriff's Department, Ironman Triathlon, The Red Hats, H2U, The PCB Ladies Club as well as ushering at the local Civics Center. Barbara worked tirelessly alongside her friends and frequently received awards for the impressive amount of hours she put in. Although her volunteering kept her busy, she still made time for her passions, reading, crocheting, and family.
Barbara touched many people during her 96 years, her wisdom and consideration for others left a life long mark on many hearts. We will be gathering to honor Barbara's most outstanding life with a Funeral Mass at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 6439 Spout Springs Rd, Flowery Branch, GA 30542, on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 12:30 p.m.
