Barbara Toni Bishop was born Dec 21, 1933, in Harlem, N.Y. To the late parents Alice Pride and Carter Robinson. She departed this life on April 23, 2021 at 12:35 A.M. due to Kidney Failure. She was 87 yrs old. She lived in Jamaica, Queens N.Y.She attended Jamaica High School and graduated 2yrs early because she was skipped twice. She would say school was boring. She was raised by her mother and step father Leon. She came from a big family and had an exceptional bond with her mother. She was an only child. She had a sister bond with her aunt Muriel. She would do anything for her children and would help anyone in need. She would speak her mind and let you know her opinion.

In 1951 she married David W. Bishop Jr. From this union four children were born.  In 1988 she relocated to California to be with her mother. She had several jobs in New York and California. She landed a job with the state of California which was rewarding to her. She worked for Employment Development Department as a case manager finding jobs for ex-felons. Barbara was one of the founders of Imani Temple Christian Fellowship in Pomona, CA better known today as Imani Christian Cathedral. She was an active member and affectionately called Ma Bishop. In 2016 she moved to Lawrenceville Georgia due to health issues.

She leaves behind Sons Darryl(Linda) Texas, Gary(Audrey) Ga, Craig Ca. and Bruce(Sharita) Ga. 13 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild a host of cousins.  A celebration of life service will be held for friends at Byrd & Flanigan Funeral Home 288 Hurricane Shoals Road NE Lawrenceville GA. Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM.  Immediately following the service the family welcomes anyone who wishes to join them for the final farewells at Gwinnett Memorial Park 925 Lawrenceville Hwy.
