Angela McDowell, affectionately known to friends and family as Angie was born in Duluth, Georgia on March 11, 1972. She was the first born to Jennie and Nathan McDowell, Jr. (deceased) among her siblings, Tar and Crystal. Angie was educated in the Gwinnett County School System and graduated from Duluth High School in 1991. At an early age she joined Friendship Baptist Church in Duluth, Georgia.

In her adult life, Angie was employed by Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia in 2001. Angie had a heart for caregiving. She did so professionally, taking care of the elderly, and personally, babysitting for family members. Angie loved to sing, listen to music, and tell jokes. She had a big heart and a beautiful smile. Her most precious treasures were Tyrone Kilgore, Kwamé Kilgore, and Ciyah McDowell, and her grandchildren, Kyng Kilgore and Xavier Kilgore. She always had a warm and welcoming spirit to anyone who came in contact with her.

Angie departed this life on January 15, 2025 and leaves to cherish her memory: three children, Tyrone "Zay" Kilgore (Shanece Eversley - significant other) of Conyers, Georgía, Kwamé Kilgore (Mariah McDaniel - fiancée) of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Ciyah McDowell of Duluth, Georgia; two grandchildren, Kyng Kilgore and Xavier Kilgore; her mother, Vennie McDowell of Duluth, Georgia; her sisters, Tara Flowers of Alpharetta, Georgia and Crystal McDowell of Duluth, Georgia; a niece, KateLynn Flowers; an aunt, Henrietta Robinson of Atlanta, Georgia; an uncle, Willie B. Blake of Ríverdale, Georgia; cousins, and a host of friends who have become family and who will miss her dearly and always remember her.
