IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Andrew Scott
Mckinnon
September 25, 1947 – September 11, 2025
Andrew Scott McKinnon age 77 of Snellville, GA passed away Thursday September 11, 2025.
Andy was born in Maryland, and grew up playing football in the streets of Suitland, MD, just outside Washington DC. He served in the US Army, and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam era.
He later moved to Daytona Beach, FL, and eventually to the Atlanta area, where he raised his three children and built a thriving advertising business.
Andy always had a competitive spirit. In his younger years he was an avid tennis player. He later became a Life Master bridge player, competing in bridge tournaments around the country. He always loved a good argument, and cherished family game nights. Uno anyone?
In his later years, he was proud to be able to put his own struggles to use in the service of others. With every challenge he faced, he looked for a way to turn it into a learning moment he could share to help someone else.
He always had a funny quip, witty story, or a sage bit of advice at the ready, constantly peppering his children with "dad-isms," Seinfeld quotes, and classic one-liners. "Serenity Now!"
He loved his Braves and Bulldogs. But he was the biggest fan of his children and grandchildren. Andy was a constant cheerleader, life coach, and confidant to all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter & son in law Heather & Timothy Borsey of Stone Mountain, GA, daughter & daughter in law Kelly & Leah McKinnon of Tucker, GA, son & daughter in law Daniel & Jananne McKinnon of Franklin, TN, grandchildren Andrew McKinnon, Nylah McKinnon. A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Byrd & Flanigan Crematory & Funeral Service, Lawrenceville, GA 770-962-2200
