Alfred Moss
Turner Jr.
November 17, 1928 – December 16, 2024
Alfred Moss Turner Jr. of Snellville, GA went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 16th, 2024. Alfred, affectionately called Pop by many of his family, was born November 17th, 1928, in Clinton, Kentucky and was the son of the late Alfred Moss Turner Sr. and Ina Evans.
Alfred was preceded in death by his wife, Joy, of 67 years; his siblings, Mary, Maggie, Ralph, Jerry, and Bert.
Alfred is survived by his son, Fred (Patricia) Turner of Waxhaw, NC; daughters, Susan (Jim) Strang of Snellville, GA and Katherine (Charles) Campbell of Stone Mountain, GA; 6 grandchildren, Susan Parker, Philip (Mindy) Goddard, April (Richard) Connell-Ransburgh, Katherine (Devin) Smith, Patrick (Stephanie) Strang, and Abigail (Michael) Petrides; and 10 great-grandchildren, Austin, Gabriel, Clay, Sam, Eli, Owen, Tyler, Kailyn, Jameson, and Gentry Turner; and many nieces and nephews. Alfred was 96 years old.
Alfred was raised in Western Kentucky during the depression era. Life was simple and family mattered most to Alfred. The strengths, traits, and work ethic he obtained during this time period remained with him throughout his life. Alfred and Joy married and moved to Atlanta in 1948 for a better life. He became a skilled apprentice with a plastering company, and later opened his own construction business.
Throughout his life three things remained constant–faith, family, and his farm. Alfred loved horses, cows, and farm life. He eventually purchased his own farm where many special family memories were made. Alfred was a man whose integrity and character were unmatched. He lived his life with unwavering honesty, always doing what was right. In a world where such values are rare, he was an exceptional example of what it truly means to lead with love, loyalty, and purpose. His wisdom, work ethic, and devotion to his family will impact generations to come. His legacy will live on in the lessons he taught us, the unconditional love he gave, and the integrity he embodied.
