ROBERT E. ABER (Bob) age 77, of Suwanee, Georgia and formerly of Sun City Hilton Head, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Aber was born on October 9, 1941 in Irvington, NJ the son of the late Charles and Wanda Aber.
Mr. Aber served twenty years in the New Jersey National Guard. He was employed at Sandoz Pharmaceuticals in East Hanover, N.J. for 35 years as a pharmaceutical technician and later as a Supervisor.
Bob was a member of the Sun City Veterans Assoc., the Tuesday Night Bowling League, and he was also a longstanding member of the Sun City Billiard Club. He regularly competed in the Beaufort County Senior Games receiving many medals in billiards, bowling, and horseshoes. Bob and his wife of 51 years, Barbara enjoyed traveling, especially cruising with friends and family.
Mr. Aber is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; his son, Scott of Oak Ridge, NJ, his daughter, Jennifer (Aber) Robison and husband, Jeff of Lawrenceville, Ga. and his beloved grandchildren whom he cherished; Victoria Darcy and her husband, Ethan of Duluth, Ga., Jake and Elizabeth Robison of Lawrenceville, GA.; and Matthew Aber of Oak Ridge, NJ.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 11:00 am at Byrd & Flanigan Crematory and Funeral Home, 288 Hurricane Shoals Rd. N.E., Lawrenceville, Ga. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am until time of service
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the dedicated staff at Longleaf Hospice. A special thanks to Alexa, Debbie, Gifty, Judy, Kay, Kathryn, Metshie, Terry, Tonya and finally Sydney, who was there on his final day. And, also Dr. Neshan Fernando of Northside Cancer Specialists at Northside Forsyth and his staff who cared for Bob for the last five months.
