Harrison Cephas was born May 28, 1932, in Eudora Arkansas. He was one of 10 children to the late Henry and Lueberta Watkins Cephas. Harrison was united in Holy Matrimony to Ernestine Cromedy and to that Union they were blessed with five (5) wonderful children. After the birth of their first child, Harrison and new his family moved to Chicago, Illinois. While there his family increased by 4 more children. During this time, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. After a few years, Harrison moved to southern California and began his career as an Automotive Technician, and during that period his sixth (6) child was born. Years later he moved to Oakland California, and his career flourished. He worked 25 plus years at Mercury-Lincoln Ford in Berkley California. In April of 1991, he met and married Miss Shirley Lavender and they were married for 27 years. Harrison loved all kind of sports. He particularly loved bowling and bowled in many leagues for over 24 years. In addition, he also was an avid Golfer for over 12 years. He had an affection for the piano and the guitar. After living in Fresno California, Harrison and Shirley moved to Lawrenceville, GA where they lived for 13 years. Harrison is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lueberta Cephas, three children; Harrison Cephas, Jr., Larry Cephas, Pamela Cephas; eight siblings: Fred Cephas, Sam Cephas, Earnest Parker Sr., Levi Cephas, Virginia Miles, Essie Lena Akres, Ollie Mae Thomas, and Gertrude Whitfield. Harrison leaves to cherish his memories: his loving Wife, Shirley Cephas, Daughters, Patricia Cephas, Phyllis (Carl) Allen, Sons Lonnie, and Harold (Martha) Cephas, a Sister Rosie Mae Brown, Brothers-in-law, Rogers (Jeanita) Lavender, Jimmy (Vicki) Lavender and Emmitt Lavender, a Sister-in-law, Elizabeth Bryant, 16 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren. His memory will be especially cherished by his Great Niece Janine Walker. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special thank you to Mr. Frank & Mrs. Michelle Payne, Mr. Ernest & Mrs. Lorene McRae and Mr. Timothy Depp for all the fun memories. A celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at 12:00 pm at Salem Missionary Baptist Church Lilburn GA.
