Gary Dean Johnson Obituary

Gary Dean Johnson, 80, of Norcross, GA passed away on June 6, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Rose Gooch Johnson, 3 children:  Robert Johnson, Lilburn, GA; David (Mary) Johnson, Hoover, AL; Helon (Trent) Hayes, Hickory, NC and 9 grandchildren.  Mr. Johnson is also survived by brother Donald Stanley Johnson of Olympia, WA as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Alven and Velma Smith Johnson of Spokane, WA; brothers Alven Sterling Johnson of Lodi,CA;  Wayne Orville Johnson of Spokane, WA; sister Marcia Caruso of Olympia,WA and daughter in law Valerie Stewart Johnson of Lilburn, GA.

Mr. Johnson was a graduate of Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane, WA and a veteran of the  US Army. He retired from Sears Roebuck and Company after 30 plus years of service. He enjoyed his retirement years with daily golfing at Stone Mountain with his golf friends, traveling and gardening.   He attended St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church in Lilburn, GA.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 21st at 10:30 am with visitation beginning at 9:45 am at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church, 5373 Wydella RD SW Lilburn, GA. Arrangements by Byrd & Flanigan Crematory And Funeral Service Lawrenceville GA. (770)962-2200 ByrdandFlanigan.com
