Danny Clenton Hughes

Danny Clenton Hughes, age 67, of Winder, GA, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018.  Mr. Hughes was a native of Atlanta, GA and served his community for over 25 years in law enforcement. Mr. Hughes served as Police Chief in both Auburn and Suwanee, GA.  He also served in the Hall County Sheriff’s office.  He was preceded in death by his parents: Birl and Bonnell Rakestraw Hughes and brother: Timothy Hughes. He is survived by his children:  Clent Hughes of Hoschton, GA, Jonathan Ross of Buford, GA, and Ashley Hughes of Marietta, GA; brothers and sisters: Kay Fowler, Vicki Braselton, Rita Craig, Mary Watkins, Mark Hughes, all of Georgia, and five grandchildren.   A Celebration of Danny’s life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 13, 2018, in the Chapel of Byrd and Flanigan Funeral Service, Lawrenceville, GA with Pastor Danny Newbern officiating.  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 am until service time.   Arrangements by Byrd & Flanigan Crematory and Funeral Service, Lawrenceville, GA.  (770) 962-2200.  ByrdandFlanigan.com.
