Bob McKee

Robert (Bob) Lynn McKee "Pap" passed away on July 27th, 2017.  He was surrounded by his family as he took his last breath and passed into the peaceful arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Bob is survived by his wife, Sandra.  Children: Bill (Akemi), Don (Jill), Tom, Beverly (Charles).  Grandchildren: Brooke (Zack), Bobby (Aubrey), Brey, Bradley, Bryan, Brandon, Matt, Adam, Savannah, Jordan, Alyssa, Daniel, Abby, Emma. Great Grandchildren: Grayson, Sophia, Brooklyn, Jacob, Gavin, Westin.  Brothers: Bill & Joe.  Sister-in-laws: Judy McKee & Pat Dewalt. Preceded in death by his parents Clyde & Verna McKee, brother Gene, sisters-in-laws Dorthy McKee & Shirley McKee Bob was born on October 10th, 1942 in Louisville, KY. to his parents Opel Clyde & Verna (Hopper) McKee. He married Sandra Lee Harris May 20th, 1960. Bob worked closely with his brother Joe for Chrysler Corporation for 11 years in Akron, OH.  In 1977 he moved to Houston, TX. to start his career in the drywall industry - M & M Drywall.  In 1987 he moved to Atlanta, GA.  and it was at this time, in Buford, GA. where "Pap" became the solid rock for his family.  Above all Pap's accomplishments, it was his devotion to his family and strong faith in Jesus Christ that he will be most remembered.  Bob was devoted and lovingly cared for his wife of 57 years.  He unconditionally loved his children, and he was a hero in the lives of all his fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  Pap's favorite bible verse was "As for me and my house we will serve the Lord" (Joshua 24:15).  Pap's love for his family was fierce, stubborn and loyal.  He spoke life into all our dreams and made it clear and obvious that he was proud of us all.  A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 2nd at 3 pm at Byrd & Flanigan Crematory and Funeral Service.  The address is 288 Hurricane Shoals Rd.
