Michael Davis Williams

Michael Davis Williams of Suwanee, GA passed away February 10, 2024, at the age of 59. Born April 15, 1964, in Atlanta, Georgia to Virgil R. and Sara D. Williams, he grew up in Snellville, GA, and graduated from South Gwinnett High School in 1983. He married De Anna Britt Williams in 1986, and together they had two daughters, Macy Paulette Williams Johnson (Dean) and Esther Elizabeth Williams. He recently retired as CEO of Lanier Islands Resort in Buford, GA where he spent 18 years. His unique vision was the essence of everything fun at Lanier Islands. An avid Disney enthusiast, Mike took his family to Disney World as much as he could. He found joy in golfing with friends and was often described as “the happiest golfer on the course”. An accomplished private pilot, Mike enjoyed flying both fixed-wing planes and helicopters. His adventurous spirit led him to many hobbies including scuba diving, sailing, and camping. He was a member of Johns Creek Baptist Church where he served on the video team. Mike spent the last months in Florida with his family receiving treatment for and valiantly battling brain cancer. 

He is survived by his father, Virgil R. Williams, and brothers, Virgil R. Williams, Jr. (Patty) and Bradley Mercer Williams (Paige). He is preceded in death by his mother, Sara Davis Williams, and sister, Mendy Williams Bowling. He was a part of a large family with many nieces and nephews whom he loved.
