We mourn the death of Jessie Taime who passed on April 24th, 2024.
Jessie Taime had a spirited and loving soul. She brought joy and laughter to everyone she met. Whether you knew her as Miss Taime, Titi, Mami, Grandma, or Jessenia, one could always count on Jessie to provide witty conversation and an outpouring of love. Jessie Taime was born on April 7th, 1939. She spent her childhood between her two homes in Brooklyn, New York, and Arroyo, Puerto Rico.
Jessie married Jose Cruz Together they raised two daughters Lucy and Francine. Jessie Taime was a loving family and community member. She became a teacher of English in Arroyo, Puerto Rico. She is remembered fondly by her students and fellow educators. She is also beloved by her many nieces and nephews.
Jessie Taime was blessed with five grandchildren, Ian, Ryan, Adri, Mia, and Jose. She was also blessed with a great-grandchild, Liam. She loved them dearly, and they remember her with adoration. She spent her final years at Manor Lake, where she was beloved by staff and friends. She was known in the community for her art and humor.
On Thursday, May 2, 2024 there will be a viewing from 5-8 pm at Byrd & Flanigan Crematory and Funeral Service, Lawrenceville, GA. On Friday, May 3, 2024 there will be a mass at 10:30 am at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Flowery Branch, GA. Per her wishes, she will be cremated and buried with her beloved husband in Puerto Rico - Date TBD
