 Mrs. Parlean Robinson-Sheriff, Sr. was born July 7, 1930, in DeWitt, Arkansas to Mr. Edward Robinson and Mrs. Ora Lee Reed-Robinson.  After her mother and father passed, her grandmother, Vinnie Reed, relocated the younger children to Chicago, Illinois to raise them.  Her grandmother lived to be 108,  Mayor Washington proclaimed Vinnie Reed Day as tribute to her as being one of Chicago’s oldest residents.

 Mrs. Sheriff attended DuSable High School in Chicago, Illinois, later married Richmond LeNeir Sheriff, Sr. in March of 1947, from this union they had seven children (losing one in childbirth).   After raising their six children, Mrs. Sheriff returned to school and began studying nursing after many years.  While living in Markham, Illinois, the Mr. and Mrs. Sheriff moved to Los Angeles, California and Mrs. Sheriff completed her nursing degree.  She worked for over 20 years in Southern California University hospital system.  After the passing of Mr. Sheriff, Mrs. Sheriff moved to Pasadena, California where she stayed until she retired in 2000.  Missing her immediate family and siblings, she decided to come to Illinois/Indiana.  Due to the climatic weather in the north, her children invited her to come live in Georgia in 2002. 

 Declining in health Mrs. Sheriff suffered a stroke in 2011, starting a new life living with her daughter, Ms. Nafisa Valita Sheriff.  Mrs. Sheriff having a strong love for people, life and social activities her daughter enrolled her in the Dorothy Benson’s Adult Day Care Center in Sandy Springs, Georgia. For  five years she was very active and well-loved by all who attended the center, as well as those who worked there.  Mrs. Sheriff was an avid traveler who enjoyed camping, going to the ocean, and dancing.  She loved to do many things and was most happy when she was surrounded by her family. 

 Mrs. Sheriff transitioned on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the age of 87 in her home in Marietta, Georgia.  In lieu of her lifestyle, she celebrated her 87th birthday with family, friend, balloons, ice cream and cake.  She is preceded in death by her husband Mr. Richmond LeNeir Sheriff, Sr., Mrs. Parlean Robinson-Sheriff, Sr. will be laid to rest beside her late husband at Mount Hope Cemetery in Chicago, Illinois.  The youngest daughter Olivia Sheriff was stillborn, son Dimitro (Al)  Sheriff,  son Kenneth (Kenny) E. Sheriff, son Richmond (Jimmi) LeNeir Sheriff, Jr., and grandson Kenith Sheriff preceded her in death as well.  Mrs. Sheriff is survived by her daughters Mrs. Imani (Patricia) Hason, Nafisa Valita (Vicki) Sheriff, and Parlean (Tiny) Sheriff.  There are 18 grandchildren: Yolanda “Kitten” Gray, Ngina “Gigi” Sheriff-Williams, Saidah Pearsall, Tunisia “Nene” Carter, Malik Hason, Keith Sheriff, Jama Hason, Aisha Attia Floyd, Soynika Brown-Johnson, Alif Hason, Dimitro Dunn, Faheem Hason, Farah Fields, Kendra Sheriff, Kenneth Sheriff, Kenette Sheriff, Di'Na Sheriff, Kevin Sheriff, 40 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.  Mrs. Sheriff is preceded in death by her siblings:  Oscar Brooks, Elizabeth Deering, Texaner Howard, Willie Jones, Cora King, Daniel Robinson, Frances Robinson, Louis Robinson, Moses Robinson, Samuel Robinson, Solomon Robinson and Rose White.
