Maria Elena Degnan

Maria Elena “Malena” Degnan, age 71, suddenly passed away on March 1, 2018 in Auburn Georgia.  Maria was born April 7, 1946 in San Luis, Sonora, Mexico. She is survived by her partner Randy Britt, sons, Joshua Degnan of Georgia, Jesse Smith, Jeffrey Smith, daughter Candy Smith of Washington state,  mother Socorro Acosta Casares, brothers, Henry (Patricia) Casares, Gerald (Roseanne) Casares, Joe (Barbara) Casares, Luis Martinez and sister Cristina Herrera all from Arizona.  As well as her many fur babies she rescued and adopted.  Many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her brother John Casares and maternal grandparents. A Memorial Service will be held April 7th, 12-2PM at Byrd and Flanigan Crematory and Funeral Service 288 Hurricane Shoals Rd NE, Lawrenceville, GA 30046, She was a kind person who will be missed by her family, fur babies and many friends. She was known as “mama” to her friends for her caring and loving nature. The Family Wants to give thanks and love to all friends and family who have been affected by such a tragic loss. Also want to give a special shoutout to my Winder Crew at Domino's...as well as the Partners Foundation, who have blessed us with a donation that covers pretty much everything for the initial service here in GA. There will be a second memorial service held in Yuma, AZ, where we will spread her ashes, as requested by the family.
