Larry Bruce Crabb Jr.

Larry Bruce Crabb, Jr. of Tucker, GA, born in Magnolia, AR on March 30, 1935, died July 7, 2017 after a lengthy battle with cancer.  Larry was the first initiated member and President of the Iota Pi Zeta chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha at Texas Christian University.   To this day, the chapter shows their appreciation for Larry, as members learn about his contributions to the fraternity on their first day of associate membership.  Every TCU Lambda Chi knows that Larry Crabb was the first initiated member of the Iota Pi Zeta chapter. When Larry would visit his alma mater, it is rumored that active members would rush to the fraternity house windows, hoping to catch a glimpse of the legend. Also, Larry was helpful in raising funds for the chapter, signing Lambda Chi flags for the annual Mother’s Lambda Chi auction.  He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce at TCU, followed by a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Michigan.  With his sons, he operated LB Crabb Piano Service and enjoyed mentoring and sharing knowledge with his students.  He was a Hall of Fame outstanding member of the Piano Technicians Guild and was recently honored with their most prestigious Golden Hammer award.  His love for singing and socializing was evident as he shined for many years as a member of the Stone Mountain and Peachtree choruses and he brought 50+ men together into barbershop harmony.  Larry was a devoted husband to his loving wife of 59 years, Evelyn Ruth Crabb, loving father to his sons Gregory Allen Crabb and Gary Lyndon Crabb (deceased 11/13/12) and caring grandfather to Rachel Marie and Kristen Michelle Crabb of Jefferson, GA.  He is survived by all of his 8 siblings and as the oldest, set a wonderful example of unconditional love to his entire family.  May he rest in peace.
